It is always incredible to hear stories of how people have become successful and the various struggles they went through to get there. We actually hear a lot of these stories, the majority of the time they come from high powered people or those who have fame and fortune, but an ordinary person can still think that success is unattainable.

Could you lead yourself to success? Could you keep a goal in mind and continue to push towards it even though the promise kept being just one meter out of reach?

Here are 5 keys to standing strong and learning to lead yourself:

Stand, Strong, Struggles, Withstand, and then Stay Standing

  1. In order to stand you need to find a place to stand; you have to find a rock, some steady ground to be on – a foundation that will not be moved. You have to know who you are, decide what you believe and make sure that it is solid ground, solid truth. You can do almost anything because you will always be sturdy, you will always have a solid springboard to jump from.
  1. If you want to lead you need to have a place to stand and then be strong in that position. Standing strong on a foundation means that you must no longer be depending solely on yourself but on the rock that you stand: you are no longer depending on your own understanding, ability and will power, you are being strong in the thing you are connected to, the thing you are standing on… why not be standing on, depending on, the creator of the universe?
  1. Then comes the struggle. The struggles always come. Who is this struggle against? It is not really with people (against flesh and blood) but against rulers and against authorities right? But also against evil powers. We are often not arguing against the person we are arguing with but against the thing inside them.
  1. Once you have overcome the struggle you need to rebuild again, but the next struggle doesn’t seem so hard because you are learning to withstand them, you are building resistance, you are not as afraid or devastated. You are learning to withstand. Again, you need to know what you believe in to be able to withstand
  1. Then, stay standing. God has given us victory but it doesn’t mean that we are the reason for the victory. We need to remain in Him and in His promises to remain in the victory.
