Crazy New Nail Shape Obsession

The Crazy New Nail Shape Everyone Is Obsessed With- Bubble nails.

If you think you’ve seen all that nail art has to offer, behold bubble nails!

The technique, also referred to as “curve nails” or “hump nails,” is achieved by building up acrylic in the center of the nail and thinning it out around the edges to create the round shape. This will help to form a bubble to finish off the look. The Nails article also says that for the look to be done properly, the curve of the acrylic needs to be “perfect.”

Although the technique isn’t exactly new, the trend is now blowing up on Instagram. And it’s really only a matter of time before Kylie Jenner gives it a try.

So what do you think ladies? Would you go for this?

Nick Vujicic & Wife Expecting Second Child

Nick Vujicic and wife are expecting their second child

Limbless Christian evangelist Nick Vujicic and his wife Kanae are expecting their second child!

Vujicic made the announcement on his  Facebook account with two photos of him, his wife and son Kiyoshi enjoying some quality time together. Kiyoshi had on a “MOST AWESOME BIG BROTHER” long-sleeved shirt and the whole family had huge smiles plastered on their faces.

Now, aside from happily expecting another child, his short film The Butterfly Circus (2009) will be turned into a full movie version, Variety reported.

The film is about a circus troupe travelling across the American landscape during the Great Depression. When they chance upon a man without limbs who is being exploited, they convince him to join their troupe. The short film has been streamed over 40 million times and continues to grow by one million views monthly since it was first released.

The Lord is God of the physically healthy and the mentally strong, but He is also the God of the physically disabled and the mentally handicapped. He is sovereign over the fragile and feeble as well as over the adroit and mighty. The Bible teaches that every person conceived in this world is a unique creation of God, and that includes the disabled and the handicapped.

Nick had a  troubled childhood. When he was only eight, he reportedly contemplated suicide because of his physical limitations until he found God’s grace and turned his life around.  Someone with a critical spirit is prone to complaining, seeing the glass as half-empty, ruing unmet expectations, sensing failure (in others more than in oneself), and being judgmental. Critical spirits are no fun to be around; neither are they fun to possess.

Nick didn’t let his disability stand in the way of him doing things he loved the most and finding the perfect partner to spend the rest of his life with.

A critical spirit tears down those around us and robs us of our own ability to enjoy life. When we become overly critical, we miss out on the beauty that God has placed in this world. Small blessings go unnoticed, and we stop being thankful.

Overcoming a critical spirit requires gratefulness, a willingness to forgive, an accurate understanding of God’s grace (it’s free!), an intentional refocusing of our thoughts, and a commitment to share the truth in love.

Do you see yourself as someone who will never be able to achieve anything? Maybe you have a disability or you think you’re not smart enough because people have told you that will never be anything in life? Or perhaps, you don’t believe in yourself at all? Cape Town To Get Water Slide For Summer

0

Whoever said that water slides are just for kids? A 300 metre-long water slide is due to be a hit in Cape Town this summer from the good people over at Slide The City.

This is great, 300 metres of slip-sliding is pretty much everybody’s idea of fun. Well, 304 metres to be precise, excluding the 26 metre-sized pool at the end of it. The slide will contain three lanes (the occasional Capetonian disregard for lane rules hopefully won’t apply here) and generally take around 45 seconds to complete.

According to Slide The City South Africa’s Facebook page, the process of navigating through the admin and logistics to make this happen is currently taking place, and more info is due to be released on 1 September. If you’re thinking that this is just a giant waste of water, initially – yes. But, take note that water conservation does play a part at Slide The City and you can read up about that here.

Here’s what you can expect. Check video.

Preparing For Marriage

Preparing for Marriage – Decision Making
Preparing for marriage is the first step in your walk through life together. You’re busy with wedding preparations, but you understand that preparing for marriage is important too! As you embark upon this adventure, you both carry high expectations for the best marriage possible. Marriage preparation will set your course and make the way smoother.

Preparation for marriage includes working together as a couple to make decisions. During this prenuptial time you will lay the groundwork for decision making as you decide on your wedding date, the budget, your wedding party, ceremony decisions, and honeymoon plans. When conflicts arise, how well do you resolve them? Discuss how you can improve the way you work together and communicate about these decisions.

Premarital Counselling
Premarital counselling is an essential part of preparing for marriage. Ask local church leaders what classes they offer for premarital counselling or contact a Christian counselling centre in your area. In premarital counselling, you’ll discuss various issues like:

  • What are the roles of the husband and the wife in a marriage?
  • What does the word love mean to each of you? How do you best show and receive love?
  • What are your individual expectations for marriage?
  • How will you resolve conflict?
  • What boundaries will you set to ensure purity and faithfulness?
  • What sort of budget will you have for your first year of marriage?
  • What career and family goals do you have? Are they compatible with your fiancés’ goals?

During this time, you will also discuss the spiritual aspects of marriage. Are you both believers in Jesus Christ or are you combining different worldviews? If so, what challenges will that bring to your marriage? Conducting a spiritual check-up is a clear demonstration of your commitment to the success of this union. Before you embark upon the sea of matrimony, consider unloading the undesirable baggage of bad thoughts and judgments that you are carrying.

Throughout the years of your marriage, you will be unpacking a suitcase of memories, blessings, heartaches, and struggles that were packed as you lived life. Dealing with these memories and struggles before marriage is prudent.

Preparing for Marriage – Learning from others
Another essential in preparing for marriage is to learn from others—both those whose marriages have been successful and those whose marriages have failed.
There are many resources that have made preparing for marriage easier, just read some online articles and get an idea on how you can prepare yourself.

Marriage is not just the big day of the wedding, but it’s actually finding the right partner that God kept for you. Are you faced with the challenge of high expectations for the best marriage possible? Do you feel you are ready for this big step or you need someone to speak to, to help you take the next step? Charlize Theron Adopts Baby Girl

Charlize Theron has reportedly adopted a second child.

The 39-year-old actress has gained custody of a girl named August who is “an African-American girl” who was “born in the United States” according to website TMZ.

She took custody of the tot last month following a six-month adoption process, specifically requesting a girl after adopting her son Jackson in 2012.

Charlize – who will celebrate her 40th birthday this week – currently lives in Los Angeles with her three-year-old son.

Back in May, the blonde beauty admitted she was “open” to having more children, but gave no hints she was planning on adopting again.

Adoption is, for some, a calling to multiply their impact as parents by expanding their family with children who are not their own, biologically. Adoption is spoken of favorably throughout Scripture.

In the book of Esther, a beautiful girl named Esther, who was adopted by her cousin after her parents’ death, became a queen, and God used her to bring deliverance to the Jewish people. In the New Testament, Jesus Christ was conceived through the Holy Spirit instead of through the seed of a man (Matthew 1:18). He was “adopted” and raised by His mother’s husband, Joseph, who took Jesus as his own child.

Both those who adopt and those who are adopted are receiving a tremendous blessing, a privilege exemplified by our adoption into God’s family.

This is a big step for any parent and for the child. Most couples pray about it before deciding what to do next.

Confronting Without Offending

2

At some point, all leaders will be required to confront someone on their team. It may be about performance, personal behavior, mismanagement, or a host of other possibilities, but confrontation is critical – and inevitable – in all organizations. However, as Deborah Smith Pegues points out in her excellent book “Confronting Without Offending,” the key is to use confrontation to make better employees, not drive them away. Here’s a few of her tips for making that happen:

1. Confront yourself first. Be honest about why you’re doing it. Make sure there’s no ulterior motive, and you’re not reacting out of anger or offense. Determine the outcome ahead of time. What do you want to see changed as a result of the encounter? What do you want the other person to do for this to be successful?

2. Select the right time and place. If possible, never do it over the phone or through an email. Face to face is always better, and make sure you have privacy. As the Bible says, “If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private (Matthew 18:15). Select a neutral location – especially if it’s going to be a heavy session. You don’t want distractions to interrupt the meeting, but be close enough to other workers or the public so you have a way out if he or she gets belligerent.

3. Own the problem. Speak on YOUR behalf. Don’t blame the criticism on others, this is between the two of you. Not owning the problem is cowardly.

4. Make it timely. The longer you wait, the less impact your criticism will have.

5. Be specific. Don’t beat around the bush. Don’t be a jerk, but get to the point. Wasting time talking about the weather, the kids, or sports scores only makes it worse.

6. After the criticism, listen to their response. There’s always the chance that you misunderstood the situation, or got the facts wrong. Plus, you never know the scars other people are carrying. Hear them out and let them respond. They need the opportunity to explain their actions.

7. Agree on the future. Both of you should agree about the changes that will need to be made. Hopefully, you’ve given them hope that new behavior or new actions will make things right. But don’t forget to outline what it will take to move forward. They should leave the room knowing exactly what they need to do in the future.

8. Finally – release the offender. Don’t hold the mistake over his or her head, constantly remind them, or embarrass them further. Forgiveness matters, and your ability to forgive will determine the effectiveness of the confrontation.

There’s far more detail in Deborah’s excellent book, and I highly recommend it – particularly in this day and age where people can get so easily offended. I’ve always believed that your people skills are far more important than the skills is takes to do your job, and this is a good place to start.

Mistakes happen, so don’t think you can lead effectively without occasional confrontation (the same is true in your personal relationships.) Taking confrontation seriously can make a world of difference in how your team operates.

If it cannot be overlooked, one must pursue reconciliation. Have you ever struggled with confrontation? Maybe confronting someone who got offended by you or perhaps you were offended when you were confronted? Are you at peace with those you had confrontations with? Click on the banner below.

Coping With Job Loss

Recently Stats SA has released stats on unemployment in South Africa. We know that unemployment is a big issue in Africa as a whole.

And what happens when a person loses their jobs? Do you just give up along the way? Or you keep looking and never stop?

People take disappointments in life differently and we all cope differently.

But how does one cope with losing their job? How can they bounce back? Why is coping with job loss so difficult? Usually when we meet a new person, one of the first questions we ask is: “What do you do for a living?” It seems that much of our worth is wrapped up in the work we do. Our job becomes our identity – who we are. What we do becomes what we value! When we lose a job or are faced with a career change, we often feel we’ve lost our worth.

Coping with job loss can create an identity crisis. When you lose your career, you feel you have lost more than just a job.  You start asking yourself questions like “how will I earn a living”?

There was a man in the Bible who felt much the same way. Ecclesiastes 1:2 says, “Meaningless! Meaningless!…Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.” That’s how  one would feel!

Sometimes you start wondering if God really cares.  When you are ready to listen to God, He will show you what you need to do, what your next move should be. We need to rely on Him.  We can learn valuable lessons from all the challenges we face.

God’s ways are definitely not my ways. What will it take for you to discover God’s plan for your life? Will you have to suffer job loss? Maybe you already have and you want Him to be the director of your life and discover what your life was always meant to be. Why don’t you click the banner below.

Why Does God Send People To Hell?

0

The Bible says that God created hell for Satan and the wicked angels who rebelled against Him, but there are people in hell also. Both angelic beings and human beings are in hell for the same reason, SIN.

Because God is completely righteous and morally perfect, He always does what is right and there is no “darkness” in God, not the smallest speck of imperfection. God Himself is the standard for what is right, good, and moral. If it were not for God being the standard of moral perfection, created beings would have nothing to measure themselves against. In other words, if God is perfectly righteous, then anything that falls short of said perfection is sinful, and every human being who has ever lived, since Adam’s fall from grace, has committed sin. Because Adam sinned, the entire human race now has a sinful nature. But people do not go to hell because of Adam’s sin; they go to hell because of their own sin, which they freely choose.

Why does God send people to hell? If God did not send people to hell for breaking His laws, it could be said that God is not just . A good analogy is a court of law with a judge and a lawbreaker. A just judge will always convict the person who has been found guilty. If that judge did not pursue justice for the crime, he would not be a just judge.

However, the good news is that God is also merciful. In His rich mercy, He made a way for sinners to avoid the punishment of hell by trusting in the atoning work of His Son, Jesus Christ. For Christians, the penalty of sin has been removed and placed upon Christ on the cross. Because of the sacrifice of Christ, God is still just, the sin is punished, yet He is also merciful to all who believe.
