The good news for some is that we are leaving 2016 behind.
And the even better news for others is that Justin Bieber will be back in South Africa in 2017.
Promoters announced Bieber’s return to Africa as part of his Purpose World Tour earlier this month.
Bieber is set to perform in May 2017 in Johannesburg and Cape Town respectively.
The New Year is already brining gifts for some.
The superstar was last in South Africa three years ago while on the Believe Tour.
And a lot has happened since then.
Apart from the run-ins with the law, Bieber has fallen out with fans at some venues – such as the gig in Manchester in the United Kingdom where he decided to storm off stage after fans would not listen to his pleas for them to stop screaming while he was trying to perform.
Slightly unreasonable request, since it’s a… you know, pop music concert.
Anyhow, I am sure African fans will show Bieber some love.
Once thing he has managed to do, despite killing his Instagram account and possibly alienating fans, is keep a massive following. Because whether we like it or not, the man is talented and an incredible performer.
Something to look forward to this time round is that Bieber’s concert merchandise is actually worth wearing. Designed by Fear of God founder Jerry Lorenzo, Bieber’s Purpose merchandise is absolutely brilliant.
Once hopes the same merchandise is brought for the South African fans – at reasonable prices.
All the best to the Bieber fans.
I have no doubt concerts will be sold out and some people will be camping outside hotels and concert venues can be expected.
