We all have seasons in our lives which are chaotic and unpleasant. From time to time, we all experience some drama. Hopefully, it’s short-lived and we can move forward stronger and wiser.
But there are some of us who love drama. Do you know anyone like that? People who love drama can be easily spotted by everyone except themselves. Here are some tell-tale signs that love drama:
Drama makes you feel important
People who love drama, love it for different reasons. One person may like the attention that drama brings them. Another person may like the sympathy they get when they have drama in their lives. I reckon people who love drama don’t know how to live life without it.
If you don’t have current drama, you create it
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the Facebook post. I once knew someone who loves drama. They had no current drama so do you know what they did? They reposted a memory of a past drama on their Facebook feed. Perhaps they felt like people weren’t paying them any attention and felt the need to create drama just to be noticed. As sad as that may be, the good news is that you don’t have to stay where you are at. We are all guilty of loving drama at times. The point of this post is to help us to deal with drama in a healthy way.
My friend asked me how I’ve been. My response was that I had no news, no drama, no issues. I went on to say that life was normal, we were all good and that I had nothing to report. When I asked her if she thought that made me boring she exclaimed the opposite. Drama should be the exception in our lives, not the norm.
Good friends are so important. Make sure you are surrounding yourself with people who help dial down your drama. The one way you can ensure you keep the drama at bay is to realize how big God is. No matter what we face, we can trust in a big God who is in control and who loves us fiercely.
