I recently spoke to a friend of mine about diets, healthy living and exercise; I found his experiences to be rather fascinating. This is what he had to say:

“After numerous attempts and as many ‘failures’, I’ve come to conclude that the most difficult thing in all of life (okay, maybe just mine) has to be eating healthy and exercising. Here’s why. Healthy food doesn’t taste remotely as good as junk food and often costs more. Then there’s the sweat, the tears, the aching muscles and the nausea that comes from being unfit, overweight and trying to exercise! These are of course all the right reasons to give up.

This poster has however inspired me to be clever about my exercise this time around:

If I don’t stop, I won’t have to go through the blood, sweat and tears every time I try to start over. This time I’m NOT stopping! So 4 weeks later, I’m still at it and feeling a whole lot better with the results slowly starting to show. Now don’t get me wrong; it’s still hard work, a long term commitment and effort, but the nausea and aching muscles are mostly a thing of the past. Even the healthier food tastes better. No, I’m not kidding, but I wouldn’t have been able to say this had I stopped when I started.”

Now I reckon that at any given time, most of us are facing some sort of challenge that seems impossible to overcome. Whatever it is and whether it involves sweat, tears, aching muscles or nausea, push through. It won’t be long before you’re through the worst of it. Think about it, you’ve endured quite a bit of junk to get this far, so don’t give up – I wont stop!
