Have you ever been in a situation where everything in your life seems to be going wrong at the same time and yet in that chaos, you find that you have peace? As human beings we have a tendency to get agitated, fret and scream when we face trouble. I’ll be first to admit it. But there have also been times in my life when in the midst of troubling situations, my heart and mind were at peace. These times have been a bit scary though, I must say. I would ask myself “Isn’t it dangerous not to be alarmed in moments when it is expected of a human being to be alarmed”? But as soon as I’d be done questioning myself, Philippians 4:7 comes to mind: “Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” This scripture tells us that in Jesus Christ it is possible to have peace even when we face a storm. This is a peace so vast, so deep that even when there is trouble, it surpasses it and instills calmness in our hearts and spirits.
In the world we live in, this is a peace we all need. Don’t we?
