This year is drawing to a close and the new year is on the horizon. Was this year tough for you? Or was it a great year? There is a way to ensure you start 2017 on the right foot. It’s time to realign.
We start every year out with the best intentions. But then life happens and when we get to the end of the year, we can find ourselves off track. Unfinished projects, unmet goals and unfulfilled expectations can leave us weary and disheartened.
You don’t have to stay that way though. You can set yourself up for a win in 2017 by realigning your life. The word means the following:
realign – verb
1. change or restore to a different or former position or state
To realign your life means to adjust your thinking and your beliefs and line them back up again with the word of God. I believe that realigning these three areas will go a long way in ensuring a fantastic 2017.
Vision – Perhaps you’ve forgotten what you are working towards. What is the vision for your life and for your family? Write it out afresh and keep it visible. It will inspire you to keep going.
Purpose – After a tough year, it can be challenging to remember what our purpose is. The storms we experienced throughout the year can wear down our sense of identity and purpose. Spend time in God’s presence and in His word. Remind your soul again what you were created for.
Heart – Realign your heart to a soft and malleable state. The Bible says in Proverbs 4:23, “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” Therefore, it is imperative that we guard our heart and take stock of its condition. Our hearts should remain soft, free from offense and free from bitterness. Do a heart check and realign where necessary.
I know that 2016 was a tough year for many people but I am believing that 2017 will be our best year yet.
